The result of the move request was: not moved. – robertsky (talk) 00:51, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
Office Assistant → Clippy – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Already redirects here. PhotographyEdits (talk) 23:30, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose move. This article is about the Office Assistant feature as a whole, not just the paper clip. O.N.R. (talk) 01:33, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Sure, Office Asssitant is strictly more correct. But Clippy is far more known in popular culture, and it would be not in line with policies to use a relatively obscure technical name instead. PhotographyEdits (talk) 14:10, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose as incorrect name, per Old Naval Rooftops. "It had a wide selection of characters to choose from, with the most well-known being a paperclip called Clippit (commonly referred to by the public as Clippy)." If someone used this software with a different avatar than Clippy, the COMMONNAME of the software would not be Clippy, but it is still in scope for this article. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 20:53, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
